The designated open studio space, “The Clay Ground” is exclusively designed for adults and children, ages 2 and up, to come and freely explore the wonders of clay without any prior experience.

Children 12 and under
Parents and caregivers join their children while they free play with clay from molding and forming to glazing and embellishment.
Children Over 13
Kids over the age of 13 are welcome unaccompanied* after their first parent supervised session!
*Signed release forms are required and individual exceptions may apply.
A Clay Ground session includes;
Up to 10lbs of clay
Colored slips for decoration
Firing
2-Hour session
$15 per child (siblings or additional children are $10 each.)
Monthly Pass $100 (per person)

Unlimited Clay Ground access,
A project passport journal
Up to 50 lbs of fired clay projects

Join us for directed instructional time in the Clay Ground. Projects are designed for an adult to work with a child age 2-5, in a step-by-step process. Projects change weekly within a monthly theme. All materials are included and projects will be ready to pick up one week after the class.
*Pay as you go for a drop in rate of $25 per morning. Siblings or additional children are $10 each.

Friday Fun Night

Friday nights, 6-9 pm
Did you ever just want to try making something out of clay? Well, it’s Friday night and every thing is all right! Come in by yourself or bring your whole family, because EVERYONE is welcome on Friday nights for food and fun!
*$15 per participant, or your family of four can come in to play in the mud for up to three hours. An instructor will be available to assist you with basic hand building techniques or guide you through pottery on the wheel.
Please inquire about our group discounts! The more people you bring the larger the discount!
Friday night special: Enjoy dinner delivered from a local restaurant (sold separately), topped off with free dessert! (On us!) Orders are placed promptly at 6:30pm with the partner restaurant. Check our website weekly to see which local restaurant will be this week’s feature!
You are also welcome to bring in your own dinner and drinks, but be prepared to have to share dessert with the Hooray for Clay team!

Coming to the Clay Ground with a group of friends? Call ahead for groups of 4 or more children for table reservations, 404-421-2338. Or rent one of our party rooms for a small fee and have your own private workspace!
Passport Journals
Clay Ground Project Passport Journals are helpful reference books for parents to aide their children with construction tips and project ideas. Each chapter is based on an adventure and has room for documentation when the project is completed. Each time they submit a project to continue its trip to the kiln room to get fired, they get a date stamp to mark the start of their creation's journey, and a passport sticker when the project is picked up.
